And it starts...

Here I am!!!  Blogging!!! I'm very new to this whole blog thing and not even sure how it all works, but I'm excited to begin.  My older sister Annie and I decided to start this blog adventure together in an attempt to document the positive changes that we want to make in our lives and are hoping that by blogging our successes, failures, struggles and triumphs it somehow holds us more accountable.  At least that's the plan.  Tomorrow is our "official" starting date.  The "first day of the rest of our lives".  Corny. :)

I chose the title of my blog, "Losing the Gut, Gaining the Glory" because that's exactly what I plan on doing.  Losing weight (a mere 85 lbs or so...) and gaining glory, happiness, confidence, appreciation, laughter, and pride along the way.  No big deal, right?  How am I going to do this?  I have no fucking idea.  But I know how I plan to start...

Tomorrow I am going to start using this blog to track what I eat, how much I move my fat ass and in what ways ("exercise" I think they call it?) and how I feel along the way.  That's the main objective with some recipes, pictures, tall tales, and humdingers thrown in for good measure on random things as well.  Which brings me to adventures yesterday!  Since today I ate like a beast (pizza for bfast, apple cider donuts for lunch and homemade chili nachos for dinner) I think it's best to talk about the fabulous day that I had yesterday.

Yesterday my boyfriend Johnny and I took my 4 yr old niece, Emma and my 2 yr old nephew, Ben  to Didier's Pumpkin Farm to pick pumpkins, play carnival games and ride some kiddy rides.  So much fun!

Then...if that wasn't fun enough, Johnny and I went to see a Rod Stewart coverband.  Why the hell would we see a Rod Stewart coverband you may ask!? Well because "Rod" is Johnny's Dad's cousin, Cliff! Duhhhhhh!!!!  Anyways, we had SUCH a fun time and the show was amazing.  We can't wait to go again.

So that's it. My first blog.  Blog v-card no more. ;)

I'll end with a quote I saw today.  Tomorrow's motivation: "Running is a great metaphor for life. You get out of it what you put into it."

Oh yeah...I haven't even mention running yet, have I? Well don't mark my words YET but let's just say...Chicago Marathon 2013.  Just sayin'.  But not really sayin'.  We'll see.

Night everyone.  (and by "everyone" I mean Annie)
